Course Introduction

The 2-day Basic Occupational First Aid Training Course is specifically designed to train workers and laypersons to become certified First Aiders. Participants will gain essential skills in basic life support, including CPR and choking management, as well as knowledge in first aid topics such as bleeding and wound care, burns and scalds, fractures, and spinal injuries. The course features a blend of theoretical presentations, practical sessions, and realistic simulations (including casualty make-up), ensuring participants acquire both the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to effectively respond to a variety of emergencies.

Course Objective

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Perform Basic Life Support skills, including CPR and choking management.
  • Recognize the importance of using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to improve survival rates.
  • Administer First Aid for a variety of injuries, including bleeding, burns, shock, fractures, and spinal injuries.
  • Apply a systematic approach to assess and diagnose patients.
  • Become a Certified First Aider, in compliance with the Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994.
